yesterday you told me 'bout the blue, blue sky

i was at angie's the other week, and we were just lying in bed listening to music, and she played this one song and goes, "this is your theme song. it's your mission this semester." the song was in korean, so i was just like, "...ok." but then the chorus went, "she's a girl, she's a playgirl." so i just laughed and was like, "totally." she just means i should start dating people. like, actual dates and not drunken hook-ups.

i actually have decided to stop having sex in korea. i was thinking about it today, and by my count, i've slept with six different people during my six months in korea. and i was just kind of like, "daaaamn." sex is cool and all, i'm just getting tired of it. (did you think i would every say that?) i mean, tired of having sex just for the sake of sex. i'd rather masturbate, really. it would be pretty nice to have an actual relationship or something. you know, like, a boyfriend. strange concept.

we recently had out first field trip for the program. it was pretty cool, except for the field trip part. we went to andong, which is where i took my sister when she was here. so i was all like, "psht, i've seen it all already." we went to a lot of things i hadn't seen, but i didn't have much interest in them. i'm not really much into guided tours, plus our guide didn't speak english. my one roommate translated for a while, but we both got pretty bored and just stopped paying attention. i spent most of the tour times socializing with people and most of the bus rides sleeping.

after dinner, we had kind of a special event where we were grouped into teams and played some games. my team kicked ass. we RULED the quiz game and got a perfect score. the second game was strange. we got a bag of chips and bag of these snacks kind of like funyons and had to stack them. our snack tower was the shortest, unfortunately, but other teams cheated (i KNOW they cheated...). the last game was karaoke. i got to sing "lemon tree" and got a score of 98 (wooo). my team was in second place at the end, but then we got penalty points (we were a couple minutes late showing up) and got bumped down to nearly last. whatev. we missed out on winning some umbrellas. it did start raining the other day (and hasn't stopped yet) and i could have used an umbrella, but i bought a super cute one, so everything worked out ok in the end.

the best part of the field trip was the drinking. i went all out. there were no bars anywhere near the hotel (we were at the top of a freaking mountain. wtf) but the front desk sold us some liquor. so most everyone stocked up and we had a big party. our rooms were quite spacious (more like an apartment than a hotel room) so we spread out in two rooms. i kept going back and forth between the two (they were next door to each other) because i had friends in both and i am in pretty high demand! i have a reputation around here for being a pretty big drinker, and i did not let anyone down in that regard that night.

i didn't make out with anyone this time. but i did lose my shoes. tyler called me in the morning and was like, "um, did you leave your shoes in my room?" and i was all, "probably." i walked down the mountain in hotel slippers, because tyler had taken my shoes with him to the restaurant where we had breakfast (which i slept through). so now i'm known as the girl who lost her shoes. but i got them back, so it's cool.

it's four in the afternoon and i'm still in my pajamas. it's going to be hard to get back into the routine of classes.

i have a bruise on my wrist from trying to hug steffi while we were drunk. we fell over.
